TitlePlumber ApprenticeDepartmentMaintenanceReports ToDirector of MaintenanceCompensationACP 208Days260+Revised: 02/15/2022PRIMARY PURPOSE:Train under the Master Plumber to maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures district wide, and maintains and provides for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Certification RequirementsHigh school graduate or GED equivalentValid Texas Driver's License, insurable with Judson ISD insurance carrier, and a good driving recordAcquire appropriate state license as required by state (within timelines set forth by Master Plumber).Backflow license required and must be obtained within 6 months of employmentCandidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background checkSpecial Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, installation techniques, and hot water circulating systemsKnowledge of plumbing codesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materialAbility to perform mathematical calculationsAbility to diagnose and resolve problemsAbility to use hand and power tools to include backhoeExperience:Minimum two (2) years of experience in maintenance fieldMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:(The following statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions that may be assigned or skills that may be required.)Comply to District directives and Maintenance Policies and Procedures and follows safety proceduresAssemble, install, maintain, all pipes, fittings, fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codesDetermine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicted or according to work ordersInstall and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, backflow prevention, etcReceive and complete work ordersRespond to emergency after hour plumbing calls for district facilitiesKeep all tools and equipment clean and in working orderInspect jobs upon completion and ensures areas are cleanPerform overtime as required and authorizedMaintain accurate records on material and laborCoordinate and review all contracted service work for major plumbing repair projectsPerform appropriate pressure test on water and gas linesWork with building Principals and supervisors to complete projectsDetect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection proceduresPerform rough in and pipe fabrication for repair and new installationsPerform repairs and possesses knowledge of irrigation systemsFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and reports any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediatelyPerform other duties as assigned, based on department needsMust complete designated district technology proficiencies each yearRequires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skillsAbility to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resourcesMaintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearanceEnsure compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of EthicsDaily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the jobSupervisory Responsibilities:N/AEquipment Used:Hand and power tools;
