Overview
In this role you will develop electrical content for technical customer proposals for Vertiv’s Modular Power Converters. You will verify designs against customer requirements and prepare technical specs, diagrams, and customer-facing documents under the guidance of the Global Engineering Lead. You’ll ensure traceability from customer requirements to specifications and support cross-functional teams to keep electrical and mechanical content aligned. This role offers the chance to influence DC power architectures and contribute to proposal quality and compliance in a global context.
ResponsibilitiesDraft electrical specifications for customer packages including single-line diagrams, power layouts, and protection schemesPerform load calculations and system sizing for DC power distributionsCreate customer-facing content such as system descriptions, functional overviews, protection philosophy, and redundancy explanationsMaintain and reuse proposal templates and standard electrical content libraryReview electrical designs for accuracy against customer expectations and verify requirements traceabilityIdentify discrepancies between customer requirements and proposed design and escalate as neededCollaborate with team to ensure electrical and mechanical package content consistencyProvide electrical specification clarifications to Global design teams during detailed designSupport compliance team with electrical content for certification packages as needed
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field2+ years of experience in power systems, power distribution, or power electronics designExperience with single-line diagrams, power architecture layouts, and protection coordination for DC distributionExperience with load calculations, system sizing, and protection device sizingAbility to produce clear, customer-ready specification documentsProficiency with Siemens Xpedition (preferred), AutoCAD Electrical, Visio, or equivalent drawing toolsclarity in technical writingattention to detailcross-functional collaborationsingle-line diagramsDC distribution protection coordinationload calculations and system sizing
