Salvage Technician

Brief DescriptionPosition Summary:Salvage Technicians report to the Project Manager when on projects and to the Facility/Warehouse Manager when not deployed. Salvage Technicians are the general labor positions associated with salvage jobs to include, but not be limited to, the following tasks.Position Responsibilities Handling of diaphragm pumps, gas powered trash pumps, electric submersible pumps, air compressors, generators, and associated items such as hoses, oilers and water separators. Technician handles all rigging procedures for crane lifts. Responsible for learning and using current crane hand signals for crane lifts. Able to operate all equipment including start and run procedures and checking all fluids before operation. Proper fueling, start up and storage procedures for all equipment.Generator Air compressors Light towers Gas trash pumps Inspection and maintenance of all lighting equipment.String lights including bulbs and cords Extension cords Bulbs in light tower and proper procedure for replacing bulb(s) Halogen lights and proper procedure for replacing bulb(s) Site maintenanceProper storing of gear, rigging and supplies. Trash control including keeping all trash and scrap metal picked up and disposed of in the correct containers. Experienced in fire watch procedures to assist welders and burners. Paint application, sand blasting and coatings on projects. Cleaning of pumping equipment and hoses after they are used. Post project inspection of equipment for defects to be noted with Red tags and repacked for return to warehouse. Other duties as assigned RequirementsOne (1) or more years of work experience in similar capacity. Experience with crane riggings and crane hand signals preferred. Training required prior to operation of any equipment. Training and/or certification required prior to operation of any company owner (or leased) vehicles or equipment.
