DevSecOps Engineer (Journeyman)

DevSecOps Engineer (Journeyman) Job Locations: US Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer (Journeyman) to support the MODES III program supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the integration of security, automation, and operational controls into development and deployment pipelines to enable secure, reliable delivery of MODES III systems. This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance. Supports development, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines that integrate security, testing, and compliance controls. Assists with automation of build, deployment, and configuration processes to improve reliability, repeatability, and deployment efficiency. Supports integration of security scanning, vulnerability detection, and compliance checks into DevSecOps workflows in coordination with cybersecurity teams. Assists with monitoring, logging, and operational support of deployed systems to ensure availability, performance, and security posture. Familiar with: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton, CodePipeline, XLRelease, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS)/OpenShift, Helm, Trivy, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Tenable/ACAS, Splunk, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Artifactory/Quay/Nexus, Python/Bash/PowerShell. Required Qualifications Active Secret clearance required. Experience/education: 5 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 3 years with MS/MA or 1 year with PhD or 9 years without a degree or 7 years with AS/AA. Certifications: Demonstrate capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix. Preferred Qualifications Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance. Experience supporting large-scale government IT modernization programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. CompTIA Security+. Worklocation: remote with the ability to travel to the NCR if required. Target Salary Range $66,000 – $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
