This role ensures compliance with federal and state laws, while supporting IHC’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.Typical Duties And ResponsibilitiesPreparing drugs and prescription orders for collection or deliveryOverseeing the ordering of equipment and suppliesControlling inventoryApplying best practice protocols when storing prescription drugs and controlled substancesVerifying prescription details with the healthcare specialists who prescribed them when requiredMaintaining an approved drug and controlled substances list and verifying expiry datesMonitoring product displays, shelves, and the general appearance of the pharmacyAddressing customers’ requests and complaintsKeeping accurate records of inventory, patient information, and insurance claimsMaintaining the retail pharmacyProviding telepharmacy supportCollaborating with the Pharmacy Manager on the progress and needs of the pharmacy staffEnsuring pharmacy services are in line with state and federal requirementsRequired SkillsUp-to-date knowledge of pharmacology and drug safetyAdvanced understanding of storage protocols for controlled substancesExcellent attention to detail and communication skillsAbility to learn and use multiple pharmacy software systemsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationshipsRequirementsA Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) accredited by the accreditation council for pharmacy education.State-approved license to practice as a pharmacist.Five years of pharmacy experience in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software, and technology systems and insurance.Certified immunizerExperience with administering 340B program preferredExperience in a Community Health Center preferredEqual Opportunity Employment StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer.
