Accounts Payable Clerk

Job DescriptionSchedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pmSummaryThe purpose of this position is to support the Accounting Department by performing administrative and clerical tasks such as data entry, maintaining Accounts Payable records, and assisting with general office duties. This position requires very high attention to detail and the ability to work with a sense of urgency.Essential FunctionsOversee departmental email inbox, ensuring information is promptly provided to the proper stakeholder or that invoices or attachments are properly allocated and filed. Catalogue, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to record and maintain financial logs. Code documents with the appropriate or the company’s standardized naming conventions. Review and validate data, journal entries, and documents by checking data accuracy, mathematical precision, and appropriate coding. Maintain and update filing, mailing, and database systems, both electronically and manually. Compute, record, and proofread data and other information. Complete and mail bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks. Enter debits, credits, and total account balances into computer spreadsheets and databases, employing specialized accounting software. Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. QualificationsAssociate’s degree in accounting, finance, or office administration preferred. One (1) year of clerical, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience preferred. CompetenciesCapable of maintaining trustworthiness and ethical conduct when dealing with sensitive information. Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and accurately. Able to grasp the time-sensitive demands of the role and perform tasks with both speed and precision. Strong attention to detail to ensure financial reporting is accurate and in compliance.
