AI/ML Software Engineer

Pointer Technologies is seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) to join our team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems, develop robust software systems, and deploy AI-powered features into production.The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, and the ability to design, build, and deploy scalable AI/ML models that align with our mission. This person is diligent, works well with others, inspired to learn, driven by mission and practices effective communication.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize machine learning models for real-world and national security and defense applicationsBuild and maintain scalable data pipelines for model training and deploymentCollaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to understand requirements and translate them into actionable solutionsConduct research to explore new AI/ML techniques and stay updated on the latest industry advancementsEvaluate model performance, troubleshoot issues, and fine-tune solutions for optimal resultsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented codeRequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related fieldStrong proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or Java, with expertise in ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and statistical methodsExperience building and deploying machine learning models into production environmentsKnowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for AI/ML workflowsFamiliarity with data wrangling, ETL pipelines, and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)Nice To HaveExperience with specific AI domains, such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learningUnderstanding of MLOps principles and tools like MLflow or KubeflowContributions to open-source AI/ML projectsPublished research or patents in the AI/ML spaceTechnical leadership experienceClearanceTS/SCI clearance with polygraph requiredAbout UsPointer Technologies is Mission Forward and Employee Owned.We leverage talented engineers and effective technologies to drive success in our nation’s National Security and Intelligence missions.
