With a focus on innovation and tailored strategies, we help our clients elevate their business operations to the next level.Location: Milpitas, CASalary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 (DOE)Relocation Assistance: YesEmployment Type: Full‑timeAbout the Role:We are seeking a Senior SSD Application Engineer to work closely with enterprise and data‑center customers, driving the adoption and success of next‑generation SSD controller and firmware solutions. This role combines deep firmware expertise, customer-facing technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware and platform engineering teams.You will serve as a technical advisor to customers while influencing future SSD controller and firmware designs based on real-world customer feedback.Key Responsibilities:Develop and enhance front-end SSD firmware features aligned with product specs and customer requirementsModify and debug SSD firmware supporting PCIe and NVMe protocolsTroubleshoot and perform root‑cause analysis on host‑interface and firmware issuesCollaborate with hardware engineers to resolve platform‑level issuesLead SSD debug, qualification, and design‑in activities with enterprise and data‑center customersAct as a trusted technical consultant during customer meetings and presentationsInfluence future SSD controller and firmware roadmaps by advocating customer technical needsEvangelize the technical value and benefits of enterprise SSD controller solutionsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field3+ years of hands‑on experience in SSD firmware or applications engineeringStrong expertise in SSD controller and firmware architectureDeep hands‑on experience with PCIe and NVMe protocols, including:NVMe commands, power management, namespaces, MSI‑X, SMBus, ARP, host resetExperience analyzing PCIe protocol traces to identify front‑end issuesStrong programming skills in C/C++ and data structuresHands‑on experience with JTAG / ICE debuggersExperience using Git or other version control systemsSolid understanding of Windows and Linux OS in data‑center or enterprise environmentsPreferred / Nice‑to‑Have:Experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzersKnowledge of datacenter architecture, RAID controllers, HBAs, PCIe switches, JBOD/JBOFExperience across SSD, HDD, or enterprise storage systemsFamiliarity with SAS, SATA, and NVMe‑over‑PCIe environmentsMandarin language skills (preferred, not mandatory)
