Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Candidates will be required to engineer and design projects to primarily support the Capital and Operations & Maintenance budgets of Facilities which includes the buildings and yards of various Service Centers and Commercial Buildings. Candidates will prepare and/or direct the preparation of design packages (specifications/drawings) and the review contractor shop drawings; perform cost benefit analysis/conduct conceptual studies to determine best designs; prepare or direct the preparation of budgets and appropriation requests for specific projects.The candidates must have a proven record of civil/structural engineering accomplishments, with a strong technical knowledge in the design of all types of steel, concrete and masonry structures. Therefore, a thorough knowledge of all applicable codes such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, NYC Building Code, etc. is necessary. The candidate should be able to work in a team environment, sometimes as the team leader, in a support capacity of architects, mechanical and electrical engineers. The candidate must be capable of working directly with both in-house designers and out-of-house consulting engineers and have a proven record in providing civil/structural engineering support for various types of commercial building/yard systems. The candidate will be involved with facility project design, operational & maintenance support, root cause investigation of incidents, system inspections.
