Assitant Principal

Westchester Jewish Center Religious School seeks a warm, flexible, and collaborative individual who enjoys working with children and thrives as part of a team. The Assistant Religious School Principal plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the school while helping to foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for students, families, and staff. Rooted in our vision, this role helps cultivate a community where young Jewish learners are inspired to joyfully explore and deepen their connection to Judaism, and where families feel a strong sense of belonging and purpose.Our Religious School meets on Sunday mornings from 10 - 12 pm, Tuesday afternoons from 3:45 - 6:00 pm and Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 - 7:00 pm. We are seeking an assistant principal that will be present 14 hours a week on Sunday mornings and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Salary based on experience $22,000 - $24,000Responsibilities Include:Weekly:Participation in Tefillot on each school day.Teach 7th grade students on Tuesday afternoons, as neededCreate a warm and welcoming environment as students arriveSupervise student dismissalMonthly:Join the school community and provide staff support during the Religious School Shabbat program (first Shabbat of the month)Collaborate with the Director to plan and execute school-wide holiday programsYearly / Ongoing:Partner with the Director on curriculum development, classroom observations, and teacher mentoringServe as a substitute teacher or provide classroom coverage as neededCoordinate substitute coverage when teachers are absent, including securing lesson plans (Sunday–Thursday)Attend and volunteer at the WJC Purim CarnivalQualificationsStrong interpersonal and organizational skills; team-oriented and flexibleEnjoyment of working with children in an educational settingProficiency in Microsoft Office, ShulCloud, and Constant ContactAbility to read HebrewContact Aleza at educdir@wjcenter.org for more information
