The successful candidate for this position will have good people skills, be organized and work well with other team members.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDMust be able to lift 20 pounds on a regular basisGood people skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredEmployment contingent upon successful completion of a background checkResponsibilitiesRinging up sales on the cash registerBagging purchases for the customersKeeping sales floor clean and free of debrisAssist in unloading donationsAssist customers with loading merchandiseReturn sales items to the proper place when moved by customersAssist with the pricing and displaying of items for saleSetting up promotional and sales displaysAnswering customer questions or concernsAnswering thrift store telephoneWriting up pick-up receipts and giving them to the driverAssist in counting and reconciling cash registerResponsible for promptly reporting to immediate supervisor all accidents, personal injury, or property damageAct as personal representative of The Salvation Army, supporting its mission, treat all customers and/or donors courteouslyAssist sorters, warehouse workers and truck drivers with their duties when deemed necessary and assigned by the thrift store managerHandle other duties as may be deemed necessary and assigned by the thrift store supervisor for the efficient operation of the Thrift StorePhysical RequirementsQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
