Event Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Event Technician to join our team and contribute to our continued success in delivering top-notch performances.
With knowledgeable and friendly DJs and staff, our services are perfect for your next special event. Dance Party DJs serves not only Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, but also the entire northern Illinois region and southeastern Wisconsin (including Kenosha, Lake Geneva, and Milwaukee).
Note: This is a part-time position with the possibility of increased hours during peak event seasons.
Responsibilities:
Training Provided: Whether you have never worked with audio and lighting equipment before, are a young professional in the industry, or somewhere in between, we will tailor your training experience to help match your abilities with our needs.
Event Setup: Assist in the unloading, setup, and installation of audio,lighting, video, and staging equipment, including sound systems, lighting, DJ booths, and any additional gear required for each event.
Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during events to minimize downtime and maintain the highest level of service.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with DJs and event organizers to understand event timelines and any special production needs.
Event Breakdown: Efficiently dismantle and pack up equipment at the conclusion of each event, ensuring all gear is handled and loaded with care.
Professionalism: Represent Dance Party DJs with professionalism and exceptional customer service, interacting with clients and guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Adherence to Safety Standards: Comply with safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved in the event.
Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License and/or ability to travel to Wauconda, IL
Your application will Proven experience as an Event Technician, Audiovisual Technician, or similar role in the entertainment industry.
Familiarity with DJ equipment, sound systems, lighting setups, and other audiovisual technology commonly used in events is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
Flexibility to work weekends and some weekday hours based on the event schedule.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
Physical stamina to handle the setup and breakdown of heavy equipment during events. Lifting, supporting, and carrying ~50 lbs is a frequent occurrence.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to clients and guests.
A positive attitude and a passion for music, entertainment, and event production.
