Job Details:
We are seeking tutors to lead K-6th grade students in math intervention classes in our after-school tutoring program located in Cerritos. Programs are held after school at the students' elementary schools in the ABC school district. The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics, has a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, and is ready to pass on a love and passion for math to their students.
Each tutor will be working with a group of 6-8 students in need of remedial math support, to help them catch up from learning losses. Tutors will be working from a set lesson plan and curriculum, with lots of room for creativity in teaching approaches that will engage their students and help them grow.
We are looking for tutors who are passionate about education, enjoy working with elementary-aged children, and want to be innovative and creative in their approaches to engaging students in learning.
Preferred Availability:
must have at minimum m/w or t/th availability, preference for applicants who can work M-Th
Example Shifts
M-Th: 1:30-4:30
M, T/Th: 2:30-4:15
M-Th: 2:45-4:15
Job Requirements:
Tutors must be able to teach math at an elementary level (through 6th grade). Applicants still in school must have a GPA or 3.0 or higher, and have received a grade of B or higher in their most recent math classes (if not, please explain in a cover letter).
Preference is given to applicants pursuing degrees in teaching or mathematics, or with previous experience working with elementary-aged students.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
