DC/DC Power System & Application Engineer

📍 Multiple Locations: Cary, NC | Warwick, RI About the RoleReed Semiconductor is seeking a passionate and driven DC/DC Power System and Application Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between silicon design and real-world system applications, driving the success of our cutting-edge DC/DC power solutions to meet strategic market demands.Key ResponsibilitiesSilicon Validation & Board DesignCollaborate with system engineering teams to execute silicon validation and generate comprehensive test reports.Design, build, and debug Evaluation Modules (EVMs) and optimized reference schematics tailored to key customer scenarios.Customer Enablement & Technical SupportGuide customers through schematic/PCB design reviews and bench validations to ensure first-pass PCBA success.Conduct technical training sessions for Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and customers; provide optional on-site support during initial system bring-up.Technical Documentation & Roadmap SupportAuthor clear, high-quality technical documentation, including product Datasheets, Application Notes, and EVM User Guides.Collect field feedback and market insights, collaborating directly with IC design teams to define and enhance next-generation DC/DC power products.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.Preferred Qualifications:Solid understanding of high-density power converter topologies and advanced control methods.Proven experience or strong knowledge of Point-of-Load (POL) converters, E-Fuse, and 48V input (48Vin) power architectures is a significant plus.Hands-on proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar).Strong familiarity with power component selection, passive sizing, and thermal management strategies.About Reed SemiconductorEstablished in 2019 by seasoned power management industry veterans, Reed Semiconductor is a rapidly growing semiconductor company dedicated to delivering high-performance power solutions.
