Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer

EPI is hiring an Electrical VDC Engineer to join our growing team working on data center projects. The Electrical VDC Engineer is responsible for various functions on a construction project related to the design, management and implementation of VDC systems, including execution of modeling and photography technologies. This role streamlines workflows amongst project teams and enhances VDC utilization on assigned project(s). This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, Monday - Saturday. What You'll Do:Prepare Electrical Shop, DFI, and DFMA drawingsProvide quantity takeoff, bill of materials and schedules from BIM/3D modelsCreate streamlined workflows throughout the duration of a project by collaborating with preconstruction and field operation teamsAssist project team(s) with execution plans, quantity takeoffs, constructability coordination, requests for information (RFI) visualization and schedule phasing capabilitiesLead clash resolution and coordination meetings, seeing all items through to completionFacilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with project teams, both internal and externalProvide onsite project engineering for BIM projects and oversee all field installation monitoring efficiency, accuracy, and changesCreate 3D and 4D models, renderings and simulations for presentations, project pursuits, preconstruction and construction operation effortsCreate and maintain training material alongside the learning and development teamResearch, test, and assist with implementation of new software and hardwareSupport companywide goals and initiatives by identifying continuous improvement areas; collaborate with management on proposed changesAssist in the creation and maintenance of VDC standards and best practicesCompute and analyze metrics for management review; propose areas for improvementProvide technical support to project managers onsite and ensure all digital BIM documentation is current and available to the management team on or ahead of scheduleCreate virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling & VR/AR experiencesKeep abreast of the latest software and technology What We're Looking For: Experience:A minimum of 5 years in a construction role supporting VDC requiredKnowledge of NEC codeLEAN principles experience is desirableData center experience is strongly preferredSkills:Excellent time management and problem solving abilitiesAbility to read Electrical Design Documents, Electrical one line diagram and Electrical panel scheduleDemonstrate initiative, independent judgement, and be analyticalExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to balance and prioritize projects with impending deadlinesDetail-oriented and highly organizedTechnology:Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk, Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Fuzor, Infraworks, and Adobe SuiteAbility to learn other specific software such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam and scheduling software What We Offer: Competitive PayComprehensive Benefits Package with Tax-Advantaged HSA and FSA offeringsEmployer-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability ProgramsEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Provisions401K Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementFully Paid Parental LeaveVoluntary Products Including: Critical Illness Insurance and Accident InsuranceCorporate Wellness Program with Wellness Time Off and Rewards Visa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.
