Sr Manager Retail Store Planning & Design
PURPOSEThe Senior Manager Retail Store Planning and Design leads the creation and evolution of consumer‑centric retail concepts for North America. This role brings global vision to life by shaping physical environments, visual merchandising, and in‑store communication that reflect our brand across every store format. You will collaborate across Store Design, Visual Merchandising, Fixtures and Fulfillment, Marketing, Merchandising, and Space Planning to deliver aligned, meaningful retail experiences that connect with consumers and strengthen market execution.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate global retail concepts into North America‑ready solutions supported by market insights and store experience standardsPartner across teams to define planning principles and ensure store designs meet brand directionComplete test‑fits, feasibility studies, and space planning to guide store developmentCreate layouts, planning tools, and documentation that support store storytelling, adjacencies, and consumer navigationOversee execution of new stores, remodels, and upgrades to ensure quality, alignment, and readiness for market launchPartner with internal teams and external agencies on market‑specific visual merchandising and store experience solutionsStay current on retail and consumer trends to strengthen store conceptsLead the Fixture and Fulfillment team and ensure coordination with store design, construction, and VM functionsSupport VM and fixture setup requirements and gather feedback from store teams to continuously improve guidelines and processesKEY RELATIONSHIPSStore Construction and FacilitiesVisual Merchandising and ISCFixture and FulfillmentReal EstateBrand and MarketingSpace Planning and MerchandisingExternal Architects and ConsultantsVendors and SuppliersKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESExpertise in retail concept development, spatial planning, and visual merchandisingAbility to simplify complex requirements into clear tools, guidelines, and planning assetsStrong collaboration across merchandising, VM, brand, and retail teamsAdvanced communication skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholdersExperience developing visual merchandising or in‑store communication solutionsREQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, Interior Architecture, Marketing, Retail Management, Business, or related field6+ years of experience in retail concept development, consumer experience, planning, or visual merchandisingExperience working within global frameworks or top‑tier markets2+ years of management experienceDemonstrated success delivering cross‑functional retail projects that integrate brand, product, and visual merchandising excellenceAbility to travel up to 20 percentAbility to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periodsHybrid schedule Monday through Thursday in office, Friday remote unless onsite collaboration is requiredThis is an opportunity to shape the future of adidas retail across North America and create meaningful store environments that elevate the consumer experience.
