In response, Jacobs is expanding its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations In North America and is looking for a Senior Drafter in its Energy & Power Group to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and utility modernization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future.As a Senior Drafter, you will be working closely with our regional and global Transmission & Distribution (T&D) delivery teams to support our utility/developer clients and operations teams as we expand our energy transition portfolio.Job Responsibilities & RequirementsDevelop and maintain overhead transmission line drawings using AutoCAD, includingPlan & profile sheetsStructure spotting and layout drawingsAlignment sheets and route mapsFoundation, access road, and right of way drawingsStructure details and assembliesInterpret and accurately apply engineering redlines, sketches, calculations, and design criteriaEnsure drawings comply with client standards, utility specifications, and internal CAD guidelinesSupport preparation of permit drawings, crossing exhibits, and as built documentationPerform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistencyCoordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to resolve drafting and design issuesMaintain organized drawing files, layering standards, and document control practicesAssist with QA/QC reviews of drawings prepared by other team membersParticipate in field visits or walk downs as needed to support design developmentMentor and guide junior drafters and provide technical drafting support across teams #epjobs #naepjobsThis role can sit at any of our Jacobs office locations, Nationwide Here's what you'll needAssociate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, or Engineering TechnologyMinimum 4 years of drafting experience supporting overhead transmission line projectsAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required)Strong understanding of overhead transmission line drafting practicesExperience working with utility or consulting engineering environmentsFamiliarity with industry standards such as NESC and utility design requirementsExperience supporting design deliverables such as Strong organizational, communication, and technical documentation skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesTeam oriented professional with strong interpersonal skillsAdditional NotesPrior experience mentoring junior drafting staff is highly desirableFamiliarity with document management systems or client CAD standards is a plusOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
