As a leading RIA firm, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our team as an Executive Director of Business Development, focusing on growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).Position Overview:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Executive to lead the front end of our inorganic growth strategy. This individual will be responsible for building and managing a robust pipeline of prospective acquisition partners by proactively sourcing, networking and engaging financial advisors and RIA owners. This is a relationship-first, top of funnel role focused on originating opportunities. You will serve as the firm’s first point of contact with potential sellers, positioning our platform, establishing trust and qualifying opportunities before handing them off to the internal deal team. Additionally, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the tools, templates, and content necessary to support this process. This role reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and plays a critical role in achieving the firm’s long-term growth objectives.Key Responsibilities:Lead Sourcing & Engagement:Proactively identify, target, and engage independent financial advisors and RIA owners through outbound outreach, industry networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships. Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified acquisition opportunities aligned with the firm’s growth strategy.Engage with potential acquisition targets, whether sourced or provided through strategic partnerships, to build and nurture relationships, understanding their business, needs, and goals.Lead high-volume, high-quality outreach efforts including cold calling, email campaigns, event follow-up, and direct networking. Maintain disciplined follow-up processes and consistent engagement cadence across the pipeline.Partner and collaborate with Rise Growth to identify and source potential M&A targets, leveraging their network and expertise to support the firm’s growth strategy.Sales Process Management:Assess strategic fit at a high level and qualify opportunities before transitioning them to internal M&A and leadership teams for deeper diligence and transaction execution. Ensure a seamless and professional handoff process. Assist in initial due diligence, data gathering, and assessing strategic fit via our FIT and ERA analysis.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and finance, to qualify targets and continually improve our value proposition and pitch deck.Achieve a target of $3 billion in acquisitions each year for the next five years, aligning with the firm’s growth objectives.Reporting, Lead Process Tracking & Market Intelligence:Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, tracking all outreach, interactions, and pipeline progression. Provide regular reporting on activity levels, conversion metrics, and pipeline health to the Chief Strategy Officer. Act as a voice of the market, providing insights on advisor sentiment, competitive dynamics and emerging opportunities. An MBA is preferred.Proven track record of originating deals and building a sales pipeline. Strong understanding of the RIA space, including key challenges and opportunities in the industry.Experience within the RIA, wealth management, or independent advisory industry is critical.
