DescriptionPosition Title: Outside Sales Rep - PaintReports to: Sales ManagerClassification: SalaryDepartment: PaintThe successful candidate will be passionate about growing sales through building business relationships and being a trusted advisor. A thorough understanding of paint and paint products is key. Whether in person, on the sales floor or over the phone, the ability to determine the customer’s needs and meet them quickly is essential. Most importantly, in order to drive repeat business and gain new business, the candidate must be able to learn about the customer; their needs, their expectations, and their interests.Purpose of Position: The Outside Sales Representative – Paint is responsible for growing a territory and building a strong book of business through relationship-driven sales. This role requires deep product knowledge, strong customer insight, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor. Success comes from understanding customer needs, delivering solutions quickly, and driving repeat and new businessEssential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodation).Sales & Growth Grow territory and achieve sales targets Execute sales plans and generate new business leads Build and maintain strong customer relationshipsCustomer Service Assess needs and recommend paint products/solutions Provide expert product knowledge and support Resolve customer issues quickly and effectivelyOperations & Transactions Process orders, quotes, and transactions accurately (POS/BisTrack) Maintain records, pricing, and customer accountsInventory & Merchandising Mix/tint products to specifications Manage stock, assist with inventory, and verify shipments Maintain displays and product pricingStore & Safety Maintain clean, organized facility and equipment Follow safety, hazardous material, and loss prevention proceduresTeam Support Assist customers in-store and by phone Train/support team members as needed Perform other assigned dutiesSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person unless they prove unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate). B2B sales experience preferred Knowledge of paint products and applications Strong communication and customer relationship skills Problem-solving and decision-making ability Basic computer skills (POS, order entry)Physical RequirementsFrequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs with assistance as neededRetrieve materials from shelves, floor stacks, and warehouse areasOperate hand trucks and other material handling equipmentPerform repetitive motions using hands, wrists, and fingersMix and tint paint; must have good color vision and perceptionMaintain strong hand-eye coordinationFrequently reach overhead and at varying heightsRegularly stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and climb steps as neededAbility to remain on feet for extended periodsEducation High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)Experience One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceWorking Conditions Work inside in controlled temperature Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold Occasionally works near moving parts and in outside weather conditions Work with small store equipmentSwift Supply is a drug-free workplace.
