Also assists with ancillary revenue activities related to rentals and food and beverage, as needed.We Are Currently Looking For aLake Compounce - Seasonal Retail LeadRoles & ResponsibilitiesThe Retail Lead is responsible for managing operations of one or more retail locations including training, accountability, visual merchandising, inventory controls, cashier duties and quality controls. Also assists with ancillary revenue activities related to rentals and food and beverage, as needed.Supervisory DutiesRoles & Responsibilities: Assist with the daily supervision of the Retail team and any other assigned departmentsLead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core valuesAct as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hostsBecome knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and rental positions and backfill these positions when neededAssist with onboarding and training team members on how to safely and successfully perform their jobsEnsure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Connecticut lawAssist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental DutiesWelcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locationsPerform opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including daily cleanup.Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory from other shopsEnsure a variety of items are available for guests to purchase and that store shelves are fully stockedProactively communicate inventory needs to Retail Manager before items are sold outCollaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product salesEnsure employees are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)Monitors cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures. Ensure merchandise and retail supplies are well stocked and organizedMaximize unit visual merchandising standards. Maintains cleanliness of store areas including exteriors.Manages inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls. Oversees ancillary duties related to lockers, speedy pass and water park rentals.Follows appropriate food and beverage guidelines related to confection location operations when required. Be on alert for possible theftReports maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely mannerAll other duties assigned by leadershipEducation & ExperienceNo education required1+ years of previous retail, point of sale, and/or supervisor experience is desiredMust be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 90 days of hire.Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plusRequirementsMust be at least 16 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerAbility to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfactionPrevious experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plusAbility to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independentlyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to use a step ladder in a safe and proper mannerAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or moreWorking ConditionsThis role will be based in one or more retail locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environmentsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSome exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agentsSubject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesTeam Member BenefitsWorking at Lake Compounce is about making people happy!
