Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.Job ResponsibilitiesSummary: The Maintenance Technician will support manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance area/shift leader.Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic in nature.Assist in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, perform scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as requiredMaintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashionRemain current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as requiredComplete all work in accordance with IOSHA, NEC, JIC and IDNR standards and regulationsComplete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required softwareMaintain department repair parts stock and inventoryWork in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduledAttend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned work loads as directed by shift/area leaders.Communicate with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when requiredWork with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrityWork with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principlesMay be required to adjust shifts as necessaryFollow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna’s operating principlesSupport efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion SurveySupervisory Responsibilities: Responsible to help develop all maintenance apprentices and give guidance where needed.Education And/or ExperienceMust have high school diploma or GEDKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systemsBasic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office softwareMust have good organizational skillsAbility to exhibit high integrity and honestyAbility to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences and effectively present information to various groupsFabrication and mechanical skillsAbility to obtain and maintain fork truck certificationPhysical DemandsAble to lift up to 75lbsWalking, bending, kneeling and standing frequentlyAble to use the step ladder and work in elevated heightsEnvironmental Conditions: General factory environment.
