As an Armed Public Safety Officer, you will conduct routine surveillance of healthcare properties, including foot and vehicle patrols, responding promptly to calls for service across the facility and grounds.Key Responsibilities:Maintain a compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with individuals, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity.Demonstrate thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations as they pertain to your duties.Complete daily shift logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and within designated timeframes.Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding safety, security issues, emergencies, and potential threats.Assist in managing parking and coordinate activities during emergencies or crisis situations with professionalism and calmness.Education:High School Diploma or GED required.Graduation from a Law Enforcement Academy is mandatory.Experience:At least 1 year of road experience as a Patrol Officer or 4 years of active experience in law enforcement detention.Certifications and Licenses:BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.Must be a commissioned law enforcement officer in good standing with the state POST Commission or have held a valid commission within the last three years and be able to obtain a commission within 90 days of employment.Valid driver's license required.Mental and Physical Requirements:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret safety and security policies.Capable of standing for extended periods and walking or running long distances, including stairs and large premises.Safe operation of patrol vehicles is essential.Working Conditions:May involve long periods of standing and walking.Exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, chemicals, infectious diseases, and potentially aggressive individuals.This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a vital mission in healthcare safety within a supportive and growth-oriented environment in the Midwest region.
