We are dedicated to recruiting top-tier physicians to help increase access to affordable, high-quality care throughout the state.Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse is to provide appropriate clinical care, and education, and support the delivery of exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care.The Registered Nurse demonstrates competence in providing nursing care to the radiation oncology patient as specified by Nurse Practice Act, the Board of Nursing. The registered nurse is expected to observe, conceptualize, and analyse clinical or nonclinical problems related to health; and to utilize critical thinking, evidence-based practice to collaborate with the health care team. Responsibilities include clinical practice, education, research, and consultation, as appropriate.Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to the patients following the principles of evidenced based best practice.Collaborate with oncologists and the multidisciplinary team on patient careFacilitates Data collection and assessment during patient examinations and treatmentAdministers medications as per policy and procedurePerform nursing observations as per policy and procedure during procedures, including treatments that require sedationAttend to procedures and exams with the Physician or APPPerforms venipuncture and IV fluid/medication administration as directed by physician or APPCompletes contemporaneous documentation as per policy and procedureEstablish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, family and friendsProvide comprehensive patient education as per policy and procedureProvide mentoring to junior staff and or studentsAttends annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings and application in the clinical settingMaintain professional development and sets goals to address gaps or desired growthProtect patients and their families by adhering to HIPPA and infection control policy and procedureContribute to the team effort by assisting with team goalsBrings a positive, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to workDevelops and maintains professional working relationshipsResonates with the high performance cultureOther duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHold and maintain a valid, unrestricted State License – RNCurrent ONC certification or able to obtain ONC certification within 24 months of hireSound clinical experience and competence as a Registered NurseExemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carersDemonstrated clinical and problem-solving skillsAbility to plan and coordinate the clinical management of careCommitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principlesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team memberCurrent BLS certificationACLS required for offices performing proceduresExperience in the field of oncology, working with a variety of patientsMinimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse
