We are an industry leader in geotechnical services and proud to be 100% employee owned.Job DescriptionIdeal CandidateCall & Nicholas, Inc is a mining geotechnical engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide uncompromising quality of service within the Call & Nicholas, culture. The primary duties of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer include technical analysis and project management expertise for open-pit and underground mining geotechnical design projects. Activities or more-specific duties include project management, technical analysis, coordination, problem solving, communication, team-leading and reporting.The candidate will be responsible for management of team-based geotechnical projects including geotechnical investigations (drilling, mapping, laboratory testing), geotechnical engineering analyses, communications and reporting. The candidate’s abilities should be at the senior level with task/project management functions and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be a mentor for junior technical associates.RESPONSIBILITIESProtect the safety and health of employees by promoting safe working procedures and health programs in accordance with Call & Nicholas, Inc policy and appropriate regulationsProvide engineering expertise for mine operations and conduct studies related to mine expansions and ongoing operationsExecute and manage geotechnical studies compliant with internal standards and external regulations (i.e. NI 43-100, etc.)Travel regularly to project sitesCommunicate effectively with mine operations, geology, management and other technical groupsIdentify opportunities to provide value engineering to clientsExecute projects timely and manage all project-related resources.Manage projects budgets including cost estimation, monitoring and analyzing costsContinually review and provide recommendations on continuous improvement opportunitiesMentor and develop engineers within the teamPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum and 8+ years of experience in the following:Open-pit geotechnical engineering,Underground geotechnical engineering, ORMaster’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum and three (3) years of experience in the following:Open-pit and/or underground miningProfessional Engineer registration xaygatp or able to obtain within 1 year of hireBilingual in English/Spanish (Preferred-not necessary)Knowledge of advanced principles and practice of civil, geotechnical, mining, geology and geological engineeringValid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationallyExperience with technical softwares:MineSightRocscience SuiteMicrosoft Office SuiteAutoCADItasca SuitesSoilVisionPythonPerlAdditional InformationBenefitsComprehensive full-family medical insurance coverageOptional low-cost dental and vision coverageLong-term and Short-term disability, Life insurance, AD&D insurance401k with 3-5%+ company matching contributionPTO and 9 observed holidaysAnnual profit-share and merit bonusesProfessional development assistanceSchedule: Full time, normal business hours
