HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Product Development Test Technician in the Performance Analysis Laboratory (PAL), a vibrant part of the Engineering Development Labs, you'll bring innovation to life by conducting dynamic tests on cutting-edge products, prototypes, and even competitive offerings. Your role will be pivotal in assessing performance, reliability, and safety. Get hands-on with both gas and battery-powered chainsaws, including specialized concrete and ductile iron cutting chainsaws. You'll also use custom equipment to meet the diverse needs of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and marketing teams. The role is not just about testing—it's an opportunity to shine as you operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced lab equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Plus, you'll be the go-to expert for tours, demos, and training, showcasing our state-of-the-art facilities with enthusiasm and expertise!
THE DETAILS
Custom Equipment Testing: Apply existing or new tests on custom equipment to meet the needs of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and marketing, focusing on chainsaws (gas and battery) and concrete/ductile iron cutting chainsaws.
Chainsaw Operation & Maintenance: Operate handheld chainsaws for testing purposes, troubleshoot issues, and perform maintenance and repairs on saws and laboratory equipment.
Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, interpret, and analyze data related to cutting speed, torque, power curves, safety, and efficiency, and compile detailed test reports for peer review.
Technical Support & Documentation: Provide recommendations on appropriate test methods, design or modify test platforms, and create documentation for test procedures and platforms.
Safety & Continuous Improvement: Participate in safety and environmental initiatives, suggest improvements for test procedures and machinery, maintain lab facilities, and manage inventory
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Mechanical Marvel: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in automotive, small engines, and more—perfect for tackling any technical challenge!
Tech-Savvy & Versatile: Proficient in mechanical equipment, electronics, and PC software, with a solid understanding of Oregon Tool products like chainsaw chains and lawnmower blades.
Analytical Problem-Solver & Clear Communicator: Capable of making informed decisions and communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally, to a wide range of audiences.
Team-Oriented & Proactive: A creative thinker and collaborative team player, always eager to learn, take initiative, and drive improvements to achieve organizational goals.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $48,900 - $70,500.
