This is a unique opportunity to join an enterprise-focused software company at a pivotal stage of scale.Position OverviewVertex is seeking a Senior Enterprise Account Executive to own and close a small number of complex, high-value enterprise opportunities. This is not a high-volume or transactional sales role. It is designed for experienced enterprise sellers who are comfortable operating in long sales cycles, multi-stakeholder buying environments, and execution-constrained deals.This role is accountable for closing enterprise agreements with confidence and integrity—ensuring deals close on the forecasted timeline and are execution-ready at signature.You will work in close partnership with:VP of Sales (deal strategy and executive alignment)Head of Revenue Execution (deal orchestration, governance, and risk management)VP of Customer Experience (delivery readiness and expansion planning)Product, Engineering, and Cloud/Security leadershipThis role succeeds through judgment, discipline, and credibility, not activity volume.Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Deal OwnershipOwn a defined set of named enterprise accounts and late-stage opportunitiesLead complex, multi-threaded sales processes from qualification through contract executionDrive clarity on the buying process, decision criteria, and timing riskNavigate procurement, legal, security, and executive approval processesMaintain primary accountability for deal closure and timing commitmentsExecution DisciplinePartner with the Head of Revenue Execution to ensure deals are execution-ready prior to signatureValidate pricing, scope, delivery assumptions, security posture, and resourcingSurface risks early and proactively—no late-stage surprisesMaintain forecast integrity and confidence accuracy across assigned opportunitiesStrategic Account ExpansionDevelop account strategies focused on multi-year enterprise expansionConvert funded POCs into production agreementsDefine credible expansion paths at or before initial closeAlign expansion plans with customer outcomes, platform adoption, and delivery capacityExecutive & Partner EngagementBuild trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholdersParticipate in executive-level customer discussions and negotiationsCoordinate with strategic partners (e.g., AWS) where applicable to accelerate dealsSupport the development of flagship enterprise case studies post-closeWhat Success Looks LikeEnterprise agreements close on the timeline forecastedMinimal execution surprises after signatureHigh internal confidence in deal quality and readinessExpansion paths are defined, credible, and actionable at closeCross-functional teams trust your deal leadership and judgmentQualificationsRequired Experience10+ years of enterprise B2B software sales experienceProven success closing $500K–$5M+ ARR enterprise agreementsExperience with long sales cycles (6–18 months)Demonstrated ability to navigate complex procurement and legal processesTrack record of forecast accuracy and disciplined deal executionPreferred ExperienceManufacturing, industrial, or enterprise SaaS backgroundExperience selling platform or infrastructure-adjacent softwareFamiliarity with PLM, engineering systems, or complex enterprise IT environmentsExperience working closely with delivery, product, and security teams in enterprise dealsRole CharacteristicsThis is not a transactional or SMB sales roleThis is not a lone-wolf sales roleThis is a highly collaborative, execution-oriented positionThis role values judgment, discipline, and credibility over activity volumeAbout the Team, Tools, and TechVertex is a remote-first company with team members across U.S. time zones.We collaborate using Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Jira, and GitHub.We operate with high trust, clear accountability, and a strong bias toward ownership.Our platform integrates deeply with enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, CRM, and MES.We partner closely with AWS and operate at enterprise scale with strict security and compliance requirements.Why This Role MattersClose multi-year enterprise agreementsReduce execution risk on large, complex dealsScale beyond founder-led sellingBuild a credible, repeatable enterprise motionIf you are an experienced enterprise seller who thrives in complex environments and values disciplined execution as much as closing, this role offers meaningful ownership and impact.LocationThis position is 100% remote (United States).
