Golf Course Mechanic

Table Mountain Rancheria in Friant, California has immediate opening for a Full-Time Mechanic to work in the Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club at Table Mountain Rancheria. We are seeking Mechanic with experience in repairing Golf Course Equipment i.e.: Mowers, edgers, large equipment, and Golf Cart Repairs. Available Tuesday thru Saturday. (4) yrs minimum experience as a large equipment mechanic is preferred. Full Time positions include excellent benefits, such as Health Benefits, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance and 401(k). Job Summary: The Golf Course Mechanic reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. The following is a list of essential duties and responsibilities for this position. It is not all-inclusive, other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and management may modify this job description when appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects, diagnoses and repairs gas, diesel and electric powered trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment Repairs broken or failing equipment Maintains records of parts and labor needed to maintain equipment Places orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service Schedules and directs work assignments of the mechanic’s helper when needed Disassembles motor and performs general overhauling Grinds valves, repairs transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, steering systems, starters, generators, universal joints,, hydraulic systems, and high pressure pumps Installs and adjusts breaks Installs batteries, tires, wiring and glass Welds fittings used in maintenance equipment Prioritizes tasks to make emergency repairs on golf course as needed Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment Sustains a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory, purchases of parts, equipment conditions, and cost of repairs Spot-checks equipment for performance in the field and spot-checks hoses for wear Services, or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use Maintains organization of shop area Monitors and records fuel use Ensures compliance with environmental and safety program Reports abuse of equipment to Golf Course Superintendent Arrives prior to crew each morning to assure machinery in ready to operate Strives to improve shop/facility conditions as time and budget allows Regulates employees use of machinery in the absence of Superintendent and Foreman Performs other duties as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent Education/Experience Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or technical school unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments. One (1) year related experience as well as other relevant educational or work experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus Knowledge of various types of mechanical repair Knowledge of theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools Skilled in machinery repair Other Requirements California Class C Drivers license Must have a clean driving record that is acceptable to Table Mountain Rancheria’s insurer If you meet the qualifications outlined above and are passionate about working as a Mechanic, we encourage you to apply.
