In this Lead Software Engineer role, you will build and modernize platforms supporting alternative investments within Asset & Wealth Management. Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelop secure, high-quality production code and review others’ codeDrive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices, with measurable validation standardsLeverage SDLC tools and AI-assisted capabilities to improve automation and deliveryInfluence product design, application functionality, and technical operationsServe as a function-wide SME and advocate firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practicesContribute to the engineering community by promoting standardized practices and tooling
Key requirements:
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability in productionAdvanced proficiency in Java with strong Spring Boot experienceHands-on experience with integrations using messaging/event streaming (e.g., Kafka, AWS MSK, SQS/SNS, Kinesis) and reliable delivery patternsCloud-native experience on AWS, including building/deploying/operating servicesExperience leading use of enterprise AI-assisted development tools and setting validation expectations for AI outputsStrong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, and security/compliance controlsAbility to work independently with minimal oversightLeadership and mentoringCollaboration across teamsProblem-solving and proactive decision-makingJava (enterprise backend) Spring Boot or equivalentKafka/AWS MSK/SQS/SNS/Kinesis
