Electrical Engineer (Level 4)Location: Remote; preferably in RES, NYC, or other approved data center locations considered case by case, with travel as neededJob DescriptionContractor shall assist and augment day-to-day capacity of an Electrical Engineer working on the YAWN program within the Global Data Center Execution Engineering team. Scope includes design and localization of new hyperscale data centers and campuses, supporting operations staff with engineering solutions, streamlining construction issue resolution, and other internal engineering tasks.ResponsibilitiesReview and assist technical development of electrical systems for hyperscale data centers, including campus planning, general layout/arrangements, single-line diagrams, HV-MV infrastructure, substations, SCCAF, calculations, and related systems.Review and assist technical development of site primary substations up to 345kV.Review internal specifications and vendor compliance statements.Oversee A/E design consultants and provide direction or escalation in accordance with established engineering standards.Peer review A/E design consultant deliverables, including drawing sets, specifications, sequence of operations, calculations, models, and related documentation, and provide comments/resolutions in accordance with established engineering standards.Review and advise on potential value engineering opportunities.Produce rapid conceptual sketches using industry tools for visualization and spatial/dimensional validation for internal purposes, such as conveying ideas and streamlining communication.Occasionally lead projects and solutioning for electrical issues, outages, fleetwide improvements, and other needs arising from existing operational campuses as Execution Engineering representative in direct support of operations stakeholders.Evaluate post-mortem reports, root cause analyses, and presentations; provide comments and recommendations.Generate solution, upgrade, and improvement options with fleetwide impact to enhance reliability and availability of critical operational infrastructure.Review data analytics of operational trends, including historian trend logs, to evaluate equipment health, remaining useful life, and predictive failure models.Work with partners in construction, design, and change management to compile, prioritize/triage, and process construction-originated engineering issues for standard design/product improvements.Support engineering bulletins when needed to ensure wide dissemination of design changes.Support standard design improvement loops/processes between products, design, construction, and operations.Operate internal issue-tracking platforms to file new issues or close out existing items.Produce presentations as the primary deliverable format to communicate findings, evaluations, and options to internal stakeholders.Use spreadsheet software to run engineering calculations and other tabular evaluations.RequirementsB.S. in Electrical Engineering is required; PE is preferred.5+ years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high/medium/low-voltage electrical distribution systems, as well as primary substations up to 345kV.Experience with mission-critical facilities design and construction is preferred.Experience specifying switchgears/switchboards/panelboards, cables, monitoring equipment, generators, VFDs, UPS, transformers, and related equipment.Experience performing power system analysis with common engineering software packages.Proficient user of drafting tools such as CAD or BIM.Experience and general knowledge of cross-discipline teams including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, and architectural.
