District Office Business Manager & Board Recording Secretary

Forrestville Valley School District is seeking a District Office Business Manager/Secretary to the Board of Education. Applicant must have successful work experience in schools or business administration; preference will be given to individual with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or Human Resources. RESPONSIBILITIES FINANCE Oversee all aspects of the Fiscal Year Budget to include Payroll Calculations and Staff Benefits. File and review Final Tax Levy for each calendar year. Complete Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Financial Reports for BOE Oversee and take primary role for completion of Annual District Audit Month End Balancing & Reconciliation of all Financial Accounts Generate Monthly Treasurer’s Report for BOE Approval Oversee District Office Assistant in charge of Accounts Payable & Receivable Process and Monitor Administrative Claim related to Medicaid Reimbursement Complete Monthly and/or Quarterly Expenditure reports for various District Grants PAYROLL Generate Payroll Twice per Month & Process all Reports Process any Extra Pay Timesheets as applicable Generate Teacher Contracts & Salary Statements for All Staff Annually Maintain Compliance with Affordable Care Act Requirements HUMAN RESOURCES / STAFF BENEFIT PROGRAM Process Absence and Professional Leave Requests Monitor & Record Sick Days & Vacation Days through the Employee Access System Complete all monitoring and compliance for TRS & IMRF reporting and payments Complete all Health, Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance Enrollment for Employees Review Annual Property, Vehicle, & Various District Insurance Policies BOARD RECORDING SECRETARY Board Packets Developed with Superintendent and Generated to include Postings and Notices Attend all BOE Meetings and complete all duties of Board Recording Secretary Maintain Board Policies / Administrative Procedures through the PRESS System Compile all Board Election Materials and Distribute as Requested Assist with Teacher Negotiations to include attending Negotiation Sessions SKILLS Successful Work Experience in School or Business Administration Strong Organization and Communication Skills Understanding of School Finance and Payroll Systems Demonstrates Initiative to Create and Evaluate Systems to Maximize Efficiency Manage and Alternate Workflow Prioritization Problem Solver BENEFITS INCLUDE: 12-month Salary Position to begin January 21, 2025 Base salary range is $58,000 - $65,000 or commensurate with experience Health and dental benefits, life insurance, and IMRF retirement Paid vacation and holidays; paid sick leave; paid personal leave Non-resident district employees can elect to send their school-age children to Forrestville Valley Schools at no cost for tuition.
