POSITION OVERVIEW: The position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while meeting the operational needs of our residents and guests under the direction of the Community Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to read and implement instructions, complete daily assignments, and work orders for facilities management and property functionality under the direction of the Manager. Performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by Supervisors, while following appropriate safety procedures. Safely operates association club car vehicle to transport, pull and empty waste cans for pick up and return. Responsible for monitoring of the pool, including, but not limited to, being attentive to the needs of owners/guests; also reporting to Community Association Manager as needed on potential matters of interest. Travels and inspects all assigned areas during their shift and reports all maintenance discrepancies or deficiencies to their Supervisor. Maintains, cleans, and stores assigned equipment to good working condition. Willingly performs a variety of janitorial duties, including, but not limited to cleaning restrooms, designated areas, and proper emptying and disposal of trash. Maintains on-going professional and technical knowledge by attending educational and professional workshops, and certifications as needed. Contributes and supports the team’s overall service effort by accomplishing related tasks and all other duties as assigned. Uniform shirts are provided for this position and must be worn daily. Street blowing of sand and debris is required when necessary to keep the property in pristine condition. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalency preferred. One to three years of general experience in security/patrol trades is preferred. Some positions may require the ability to meet company driving standards and drive a company vehicle. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to use. Must demonstrate the ability to interact with people and meet their needs as required in a friendly and hospitable manner. CONDITIONS OF WORK: The employee must be able to work extended and flexible hours; and weekends as needed. This position works under indoor and outdoor conditions and may be exposed to elements including but not limited to, chemicals, odor, weather, and environmental conditions. The associate must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms and lift 50 lbs. The employee must be able to navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions and must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms. ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION: Hours/workdays: Wednesday 12:30pm to 6:00pm and Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7:00am to 6:00pm. The position is a gate attendant/courtesy patrol/beach patrol/security monitor- no license required. Required to greet visitors and owners as they enter the community located in Santa Rosa Beach. Must verify guests with the residents and provide instructions and directions. Every vehicle that enters the gate must be logged; violations tracked with the assistance of the Community Association Manager. Written directions, and a manual of operations are available. Must have some aptitude and familiarity with Microsoft Office primarily Word, Email and Excel; will be taught to utilize AppFolio Software for management purposes.
