Full-Time School Bus Driver SY 2026/27

Position: Full-Time School Bus DriverPurpose: Provides transportation support for a complete range of curricular and extra-curricular activities offered by the District’s schools; safely operates a school bus or other District vehicle that transports students to and from schools, and supports participation in school activities.Reports To: Director of Transportation & MaintenanceFLSA Status: Non-exempt, daily rate based on the bus route (regular route is $100.25 per day)QualificationsRequired Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentMust hold a valid state-issued CDL- Class B Drivers’ License with Endorsements P and S or reasonable assurance of obtaining a CDL- Class B Drivers’ License with Endorsements P and SMust be able to pass and maintain a DOT physicalMust be able to pass a DOT drug screen and will be subject to random DOT drug testingComplete and pass an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR coursePass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening testWill be subject to random drug/alcohol testing programsDisplay sound judgment and flexibility to changeHealth and Inoculation Certificate on file in the District Office (after an employment offer is made) Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for school busesPractice good public relations and be a positive representative of the school systemKeep the assigned bus cleanPerforms pre-checks and post-checks of the assigned bus before and after each operation for mechanical defectsCheck assigned bus for gas and oil; wash (cleaning inside and out) and report other mechanical failures to the Director of Transportation & MaintenanceTransports only authorized studentsEnforce the district's behavior code for bus driversMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and maintain confidential informationSupervise students and maintain discipline on the busAssist with minor maintenance and grounds projects within the districtReport all accidents and complete required reportsPerform such other related duties as assigned by the district administrationMaintain regular and consistent attendance at workPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
