Kitchen Support Staff (On-Call)

About the RoleBurke & Black is looking to build out our roster of reliable back-of-house kitchen staff for a corporate event catering company. This is an on-call, shift-selection-based role. Scheduling is flexible, and team members may choose from available shifts as they come up. Shifts may include kitchen prep, event prep, food assembly, dishwashing, and general BOH support.We operate in a fast-paced catering environment and are looking for individuals who can work efficiently, maintain strong kitchen standards, and operate independently when needed.Requirements:ServeSafe certified1+ years of BOH kitchen experienceProficient knife skillsAbility to work neatly, accurately, and efficientlyAbility to read and communicate in EnglishComfortable working all BOH positions (prep, dishes, assembly, etc.)Knowledge of kitchen standards and practices (FIFO, food temps, sanitation, etc.)Organized and detail-orientedAbility to work independentlyPreferred Qualifications:Experience using a meat slicerValid driver’s license / reliable transportationAdditional Information:Compensation is $35/hr (1099 contractor role)Paid trial shift required to assess kitchen skills and fit for the roleFlexible/on-call scheduling Position based in San FranciscoBusy, fast-paced shifts during event periods
