Assistant General Counsel

OverviewElectric Boat is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve as a critical team member in support of the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarinesKey Responsibilities include:Engage regularly with various Electric Boat functional groups including: Contracts, Program Office leads, and FinanceParticipate in negotiations of multi-billion-dollar Government Contracts as well as significant vendor contracts, and provide comprehensive counsel throughout performance of those contractsSupport drafting and submission of Requests for Equitable Adjustment, Claims, and associated litigationsCollaborate with business leads in response to external audits (e.g. DCMA, GAO)Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure AgreementsActively manage Outside CounselOther responsibilities as may be assignedQualificationsRequired Education:* Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Connecticut or must be able to obtain licensing in ConnecticutRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 4 years practicing law in either a law firm, government agency, or in-house specializing in transactionsExperience negotiating Government Contracts and strong familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Relevant former Government experienceExperience with ITAR and EAR complianceFamiliarity with Government Regulations related to:Post Government EmploymentConflicts of InterestFreedom of Information ActForeign Corrupt Practices ActSkillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsInnovative problem-solver with superior collaborative and interpersonal skillsAbility to identify and recommend risk mitigation strategies in business transactionsMust be flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, and organized in order to prioritize and support multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEnvironmental AttributesInside
