Senior Development Associate

Status: Full-Time Salary FLSA Classification: ExemptAnnual Salary: $59,630-$75,000Compensation is commensurate based on education, relevant experience, and qualifications.Summary of Position: Senior Development Associate for government projects is a development professional who is knowledgeable about human services systems and grant proposals to fund services from government sources. The Development Associate must be familiar with child welfare, juvenile justice, and mental/behavioral health systems. This position contributes to the development and implementation of funding strategies, engagement initiatives to secure financial support for the organization’s mission and programs. This position will be assigned to work on government proposals, including responding to complex Federal, State, and Local RFP’s, writing proactive proposals for government funders, and writing position papers.Demonstrated track record of achieving winning proposals/contract targetsAssist in preparing grant proposals and funding applications.Ability to collaborate with the development team to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and reporting requirements.Ability to take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish and meet deadlinesAbility to work quickly and independently with minimum guidance or oversightStrong fact checking, research and editing skills. Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Non-Profit Management, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. 2 -4 years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, and non-profit administration. Minimum seven (7) of grant and proposal writing experience is required.Experience working donor databases/CRMs (e.g., Salesforce) Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting donor letters, reports, and grant proposals.
