Assist in the management and supervision of thework of all employees within the department. Provide vision and clear expectations to allteam members. Ensure that all staffing needs and caliber ofpeople are met in coordination with HR. Develop Deputy Managers and Leads to the nextlevel of leadership. Hold team members accountable for allexpectations. Assist in any coaching and corrective actionswith the assistance of the department manager and HR. Ensure tablets are being used 100% of the time. Contribute and implement ideas to improve andoptimize warehouse flow and functions. Promote a safe work environment by being anexample, reminding, and correcting the team members. Show initiative in helping team members solveproblems. Other job duties may be assigned based onoperational needOperational Take ownership of the operations by taking fullresponsibility for anything within the department Ensure all employees are given the tools andcoaching needed to succeed. Ensure all carts are filled accurately,promptly, and high-quality according to the datasheets and clients’requirements. Ensure that processes are as efficient aspossible. Empower team members to identify and resolveoperational issues. Bring any concerns and recommendations to themanagement’s attention. Communicate with the warehouse department aboutany stock item needs. Foresee potential needs or problems and haveaction plans to avoid production disruptions. Communicate job performance standards to teammembers. Clearly and confidently communicate with clientrepresentatives as needed. Regular and timely attendance is expected forthe position. Other job duties may be assigned based onoperational needQuality and Safety Ensure that all processes conform to thecustomer and Newrest specifications Always comply with good hygiene andmanufacturing practices (e.g., hazard analysis and critical control points[HACCP], FIFO) Carry out cleaning, washing, and sanitation ofpremises by cleaning plan Investigate and complete incidents/accidentsdocumentation Enforce safety processes and legal requirementsfor all processes Other job duties may be assigned based onoperational needAdministrative Task Assist in interviewing and determining theindividuals to join your department Approve time off requests and other leaves ofabsence Assist in performing performance reviews for alldepartment team members Approve all timecards and resolve timecarddiscrepancies Mentor and coach team members and providecorrective actions as required Regular and timely attendance is expected forthe position. Other job duties may be assigned based onoperational needEducation/Experience Requirements High School Diploma required. College or Technical Training is a plus but notrequired. At least four years of experiencesupervising/managing people, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment At least two years of experience leading a teamof 75 + Good leadership ability Good communication skills with the ability tocommunicate with non-exempt and upper management levels Ability to effectively handle conflict andde-escalate emotionally charged situations Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and otheremployment laws Good knowledge of investigation procedures androot cause analysis Understanding of lean manufacturing principlesand operational processes Good knowledge of HACCP & food safetystandards Good problem-solving and decision-making skills Resilient self-starter who can act independentlyand learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment Aptitude in showing self-initiative andfollow-through Good ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Excellent organizational and motivational skills Good attention to detail and observation abilityPhysical EnvironmentThe physical demands described here represent those that anemployee must meet to perform the essential responsibilities of this jobsuccessfully.
