Key Responsibilities
Design, refine, and enhance CMM routines for intricate aerospace parts.
Execute first article, in-process, and final quality checks using CMM hardware and standard metrology tools.
Build and manage CMM programming logic using platforms like PC-DMIS or Calypso.
Analyze detailed technical blueprints, GD&T standards, and specific customer quality requirements.
Facilitate the launch of new products by establishing robust inspection techniques and validation strategies.
Investigate dimensional discrepancies and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to identify root causes.
Develop inspection methodologies that boost operational efficiency while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks.
Ensure the integrity of new fixtures and production processes through comprehensive dimensional verification.
Provide support for internal and customer-led audits while adhering to AS9100 quality protocols.
Foster team growth by mentoring junior staff and acting as a subject matter expert for the quality division.
Oversee the maintenance of calibration logs to guarantee all inspection tools remain fully compliant.
Lead initiatives that enhance inspection precision, measurement repeatability, and overall throughput.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on CMM programming within a high-precision machining context.
Extensive background operating CMM hardware from manufacturers such as Hexagon, Zeiss, or Mitutoyo.
High-level expertise in CMM software suites like Calypso or PC-DMIS.
Deep knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles.
Proven ability to decipher intricate engineering schematics and technical drawings.
Background in verifying the quality of machined components with extremely tight tolerances.
Skilled in the use of standard precision tools including height gages, micrometers, calipers, bore gages, surface plates, and optical comparators.
Strong analytical capabilities and a methodical approach to resolving technical challenges.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across production and engineering departments.
Preferred Experience
Background in the defense or aerospace manufacturing sectors.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems.
Proficiency in performing First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
Competence in MSA, SPC, and various statistical analysis techniques.
Specific experience utilizing Zeiss CMM hardware and Calypso software.
Engagement in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
