SharePoint EngineerLocation- Hybrid (Washington, DC)This program requires US CitizenshipOverviewWe're seeking a Senior Microsoft Certified SharePoint Engineer to lead the architecture, modernization, and migration of enterprise SharePoint environments specifically transitioning legacy SharePoint On?Premises platforms to SharePoint Online (M365). This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys shaping governance, security, and collaboration strategy across the enterprise.Key ResponsibilitiesSharePoint Architecture & LeadershipServe as the SME for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions.Design modern SharePoint Online architectures aligned with Microsoft best practices.Define information architecture, governance models, permission strategies, and lifecycle frameworks. Migration Strategy & ExecutionLead enterprise migrations from SharePoint 2010/2013/2016/2019 to SharePoint Online.Assess legacy environments, including custom solutions, workflows, and integrations.Build migration roadmaps, risk mitigation strategies, and execution plans.Recommend and execute migrations using proven tools and methodologies.Support development of MS365 collaboration governance and rollout alignment. Governance, Security & ComplianceEstablish and enforce governance standards for SharePoint Online.Partner with security teams to implement retention labels, DLP, and access governance.Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Automation & OptimizationImprove performance, search, and usability using modern SharePoint design principles.Leverage Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) to modernize workflows. Stakeholder Engagement & MentorshipAct as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and leadership.Mentor junior engineers and administrators.Produce architectural documentation, standards, and runbooks. Required QualificationsMicrosoft certification in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 (e.g., M365 Enterprise Admin Expert).7+ years of hands?on SharePoint experience in enterprise environments.Proven experience leading multiple SharePoint On?Prem ? Online migrations.Expertise in SharePoint Online architecture, modern sites, hub sites, permissions, and search.Strong PowerShell experience (including PnP PowerShell).Deep understanding of Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD integration. Preferred QualificationsExperience with hybrid SharePoint environments.Power Platform workflow modernization experience.Familiarity with Microsoft Purview compliance features.Background supporting large enterprise or regulated environments.
