Human Resource Manager

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESWithin the limits of applicable policies, procedures and established plans, he/she has authority to take action and make decisions. The assignment of work or delegation or responsibility does not relinquish responsibility for results. Performance will be measured by the extent to which the responsibilities have been fulfilled.Functional Responsibilities:Responsible for recruiting and retention of both hourly and staff employeesResponsible for the operational budgets for the Human Resources and Safety Departments and all expenditures and authorizations pertaining to those departments per Company guidelines, policies and proceduresHR issues, problems, conflict, disciplinary, wage issues, counselingSafety programs, meetings, reports, accident investigation, safety committee, safety inspections, projectsTraining preparation and administration of programs, reports and follow-upImplementing, revising, reporting, administrating and filing Company policies and procedures, files updateCompiling data, records and information for various reports and oversee HR AdministratorOther duties as assignedManagerial Responsibilities:Direct and supervise Human Resource Administrator in carrying out their responsibilities; motivate, coach and counsel as requiredReview and approve employee time cardsEvaluate and conduct performance appraisalTrain or assign training to maintain sufficient skill levels in the departmentKey Working Relationships:Various Government Agencies, as needed, OSHA, EEOC, EPA, ODJFS, Law Enforcement, Federal, State, Local officials for reporting, assistanceWorkman's Compensation Carrier, as needed, for injury casesAttorneys, as needed, for legal, contract issuesEducational outlets, vendors, as needed, for training, hiring and suppliesRegion General Manager, as needed, for direction, communication and reportsManagers, Supervisors, as needed, issues, problems, scheduling, discipline, training, safety and communicationFacility Manager, as needed, for communication and updatesQuality Manager, as needed, for training and reportsCorporate Human Resources, as needed, for direction, policy, benefits, issuesFunctional Requirements:Regular use of computers, telephones and miscellaneous office equipmentMust organize complex tasks and meet deadlinesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceFour (4) year degree with five (5) years in a Human Resources management position in a manufacturing environmentHigh School Diploma or GED with ten (10) years' experience in a Human Resources management positionSkillsExcellent communication, verbal and writtenWorking knowledge of computers and systems, safety, benefits, EEO, OSHA, worker's compensation, Wage and Hour, employment law, policy and procedure
