Inbound is the highest-leverage control point in the operation: what your team allows in determines whether we can pick, pack, and ship efficiently downstream. You’ll take ownership of a high-volume inbound shift spanning receiving and putaway, while helping scale the operation to support 2x growth.Your day is spent on the floor—running dock operations, directing unload and putaway flow, and making real-time decisions that balance speed with accuracy. You’ll lead a team of hourly associates and a QA Specialist, ensuring vendor compliance, barcode scannability, and system-to-physical inventory alignment. You’ll work directly in HighJump WMS, partnering with Inventory Control and cross-functional teams to resolve issues at the source rather than passing defects downstream. This is not a “learn into leadership” role. You’re stepping into an operation where inbound standards must be built, enforced, and scaled. You’ll be expected to hold inventory, push back on vendors or internal partners, and stop bad product from entering the building—even when it creates short-term friction—because protecting downstream execution is the priority.Who You Are3–5+ years supervising warehouse or fulfillment operations, directly managing hourly associates in high-volume environments (this is not an entry-level leadership role)Hands-on ownership of inbound operations (receiving, dock, putaway) at scale—you understand how inbound decisions impact pick, pack, and ship performance downstreamDeep experience in DTC/e-commerce fulfillment environments—not traditional retail distribution, not manufacturing—where “pickable-ready” inventory standards matterStrong working knowledge of inbound quality requirements including UPC/barcode scannability, each vs. casepack handling, and first receipt validationExperience operating with a quality control / problem resolution function (QA, Problem Solve, Hospital, Exceptions) and understanding how to identify and contain defects at intakeComfortable holding product and enforcing standards—you will push back on vendors or internal stakeholders when inventory is not compliantSystems fluent in WMS environments (HighJump or similar)—you understand how item setup, dimensions, and configuration impact execution on the floorProven track record of building, improving, and enforcing SOPs—not just following themAble to operate as both data-driven and floor-connected—you use metrics to guide decisions but are comfortable making real-time calls on the dockExperience in scaling operations or preparing for growth, identifying bottlenecks and failure points before they impact throughputYou lead with clear standards and consistent accountability—your team knows what “good” looks like and you reinforce it dailyThrives in scale-up environments where processes are still being built—not highly structured, fully optimized operations with rigid playbooksYou're comfortable and enthusiastic about working in an AI-forward environment where AI tools are part of daily operations. You embrace technology to enhance your work while keeping people at the center. How You Will Make An ImpactOwn inbound as the building’s primary control point—ensuring all inventory is received, verified, and put away accurately before becoming available for pickingEnforce vendor compliance and product readiness standards, including barcode scannability, labeling accuracy, and casepack integrity—eliminating manual workaroundsLead receiving and putaway execution, driving dock flow, unload sequencing, and prioritization to maintain throughput without introducing defectsOwn and develop the QA / problem resolution function through your QA Specialist, ensuring issues are identified quickly, root-caused accurately, and resolved permanentlyBuild feedback loops between inbound defects and upstream fixes—improving vendor performance, item setup, and operational standards over timeScale inbound operations to support 2x volume growth by improving flow, space utilization, labor deployment, and standardization across shiftsLead from the floor—coaching in real time, reinforcing standards, and making decisive calls (including stopping work) to protect inventory qualityEnsure system-to-physical alignment in HighJump WMS, partnering with Inventory Control to maintain accurate item setup, dimensions, and inventory integrityPhysical RequirementsWhile this role involves leadership and oversight responsibilities, it also requires regular physical presence and activity on the fulfillment floor.
