Create a safe and inclusive learning environment by interacting effectively with all students and responding appropriately to the unique needs of each student. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.ASSIGNMENT:187-day assignmentQUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assignedHighly qualified status in all subject areas assignedDemonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assignedSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of core academic subject assignedKnowledge of curriculum and instructional best practicesStrong knowledge of internet and web-related technologyAbility to instruct students and manage their behavior using a variety of applications and platformsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with students, parents, and colleaguesAbility to support students with basic device setup, navigation, and technology issuesExperience:Student teaching or approved internshipAlternatives to the above, as the District finds appropriateMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Instructional StrategiesDevelop and implement lesson plans for learning that fulfill the requirements of the District's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment for learning that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).Use appropriate integrated technology to strengthen the learning process.Student Growth and DevelopmentHelp students analyze and improve study methods and habits.Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing utilizing a variety of technology tools.Provide ongoing feedback of student achievement through formal and informal methods.Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
