Job Description Location: Westlake Village, CaliforniaSalary Info: $30 - 34/hour depending on experience; 24 hours sick pay per yearJob Summary: Responsible for providing one-on-one instruction to a single 14 year old special needs student with vision impairment and providing him mod-max assistance with all activities for daily living (ADL) during the school day. Reading is at 3rd grade level and Math is at middle school level. Job Description:A Private Homeschool registered with the California Department of Education is now hiring for a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our small team at in Westlake Village, CA (Ventura County). Duties:Utilize computer to reformat work for student's visual needs. Templates provided – does not require knowledge of vision impairment.Assist in the planning and implementation of lesson plans that are designed to meet student needs. Curriculum is provided.Provide one-on-one instruction daily. Implement individualized student-centered learning experiencesAssist with monitoring student performanceProvide for the safety and well-being of student. Student uses a wheelchair and does require assistance with all activities for daily living (ADL) such as eating and bathroom use.Other duties as assigned by managerQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education OR Special Education OR related field and/or related experience preferredComputer Knowledge – PowerPoint, Excel, WordFluency in reading/writing EnglishExcellent communication skillsAble to work independentlyProblem solverAll candidates must also pass a background check Job Type: Monday – FridayDay shift: 7am-2:15pm.
