Senior External Auditor
LHH is partnering with a nationally recognized public accounting and advisory firm to identify a Senior External Auditor to join their expanding Audit practice. This role supports a diverse client base ranging from entrepreneurial and middle‑market companies to complex, multi‑entity organizations. The position offers broad exposure across financial statement audits, technical accounting matters, and advisory engagements while working closely with senior leadership and client finance teams.This is an ideal opportunity for an audit professional who enjoys consultative work, variety in client engagements, and the ability to make an immediate impact across multiple environments.Key Responsibilities:Execute and lead financial statement audit engagements in accordance with GAAP and firm methodologyPerform audit testing across key financial areas, including revenue, inventory, fixed assets, and reservesPrepare and review audit workpapers to support audit conclusions and financial statementsAssist with audit planning, risk assessments, and identification of key control and reporting considerationsEvaluate internal controls and support SOX or internal control‑related procedures where applicableCollaborate directly with client finance leaders, controllers, and CFOs throughout the audit processCoordinate with internal engagement teams and external specialists as neededResearch and analyze technical accounting and auditing issues and document conclusionsSupport audits of multiple entity structures and consolidated financial statementsContribute to process improvements and best practices within the audit practice as the firm continues to growQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance3–5 years of audit experience in public accountingCPA or CPA‑In‑Progress strongly preferredExperience auditing multi‑entity and consolidated financial statements preferredStrong Excel skills; experience with audit tools and ERP systems a plusDetail‑oriented with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environmentBenefits:Hybrid work environment with flexibility based on client needsCompetitive compensation with 30% Bonus3–4 weeks PTO plus paid holidaysExposure to varied clients, industries, and complex audit engagementsClear path for professional growth within a high‑performing public accounting firm
