Baruch’s dynamic and urban environment serves as a hub for innovation, growth, and professional development.Role DescriptionThe Career Support Specialist supports student career readiness within the Tech Talent Pipeline Residency (TTPR) program. The incumbent provides career coaching, technical interview preparation, and structured progress tracking to support student success in securing and completing internships in cybersecurity and data analytics fields. This role requires the ability to guide students in aligning academic training with industry expectations, including interpreting technical job requirements, supporting project-based portfolios, and reinforcing professional standards. Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual and group career coaching to assigned students Guide students in developing targeted resumes, technical project portfolios, and professional communication skills aligned with industry roles Prepare students for internship opportunities through structured mock interviews (behavioral and technical) and job readiness activities Coordinate technical mock interviews with industry volunteers, ensuring alignment between student track (cybersecurity or data analytics) and interviewer expertise Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and timely records in program tracking systems Track and support completion of key readiness milestones (e.g., resume approval, mock interviews, portfolio development) Follow up with students regarding program requirements, participation, and completion of deliverables support the delivery of career readiness workshops and contribute to continuous improvement of student preparation processes Collaborate with program staff to align student readiness with employer expectations and internship requirements Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in career services, workforce development, student advising, or a related field Demonstrated ability to coach individuals toward employment outcomes Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with cybersecurity, information technology, or data analytics career pathways Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting technical interview preparation and/or reviewing technical projects or portfolios Ability to interpret technical job descriptions and translate requirements into student guidance Experience using student tracking systems, CRM platforms, or data management tools Core Competencies Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured, accountability-driven environment Strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations Ability to communicate technical or complex information in a clear and accessible manner Demonstrated ability to support students in achieving measurable career readiness outcomes Pay Range:$65,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Apply Herehttps://rfcuny.wd108.myworkdayjobs.com/RFCUNY/job/New-York-NY/Career-Support-Specialist_JR2039RFCUNY BenefitsRFCUNY Employee Benefits and AccrualsEqual Employment Opportunity StatementThe Research Foundation of the City University of New York is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Americans with Disabilities Act/E-Verify Employer.
