Player Pathway Head Coach

NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. If you’re ready to push the limits and make an impact, you belong at Gotham FC.The RoleThe player pathway head coach will be responsible for the management of all development center players, staffs while overseeing the operations and structure of the environment. This position will also be responsible for supporting and maintaining a strong connection with our 1st team staff, style of play, and methodology.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneric DutiesOversee management of day-to-day development center operationsOversee and manage staff, roles and responsibilitiesSupport & connect with the 1st team on a weekly basisSupport the director in future program growth and key decisionsSupport the director in staff future hiring processMaintain good standing with NWSL, USSF, and other national team federationsWhen necessary:Assist with pre-approved added 1st team dutiesSpecific DutiesAdministrative Be the main point of contact between 1st Team and the Pro Player Pathway (PPP)Upkeep the 1st Team calendar updates into the PPP staff calendarMaintain and update exercise/activity databaseMaintain clean and accurate records of all training sessions and game dataComplete quarterly technical staff and support staff review meetingsDevelopment CenterLead a positive, enjoyable, competitive environment that supports the individual development within the context of the teamLead the planning and delivery of all training sessionsAssign and manage all staff roles/responsibilities for training and gamesLead the decision making for all game planning, line ups and minute planningLead and manage the team with honesty, transparency and accountabilityManage and adjust the delivery of an optimal training environmentCollaborate with the Director of Youth Player Development in the organization of our curriculum, game ideas and principles of playCollaborate with the Director of the Pro Player Pathway on player assessment, future participation and 1st team readinessSupport the Director of the Pro Player Pathway on player admission and release from the programRequired QualificationsHold US Soccer A license of UEFA equivalent8+ years coaching experience in the elite youth, collegiate or professional setting5+ years of experience coaching elite level U18 female playersSafeSport certified and compliantLegally authorized to work in the United States.Capability & Other CharacteristicsBe able to work under pressure for non-traditional hoursDemonstrate superb organizational skillsBe extremely diligent and meticulousAlways have a backup plan and remain adaptableSupport the Gotham FC forward vision & community initiativesMaintain a positive attitude and professionalism Work within the multi-disciplinary team and maintain healthy relationshipsLocation: This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel.
