Behavior Support TechnicianQUALIFICATIONS:High School DiplomaRegistered Behavior Technician certification (preferred)Relevant previous experience a plusSuccessfully pass criminal background checkREPORTS TO:Principal and Director of Special ServicesPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:While working under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), in collaboration with the classroom teacher, the following duties will be required:Directly implements behavior analytic services with students.Teaches the students to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the Individualized Education Program.Teaches new skills through intensive teaching strategies..Effectively implements prompting procedures and reinforcement systems.Assists students as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills. This may include toilet training, eating, and other self-help skills.Actively participates in staff training programs designed to increase overall skills.Observes, records, and reports the condition and behavior of the students, includingcollecting various types of data across settings.Reduces unsafe or disruptive behaviors through differential reinforcement, antecedent modifications, and/or extinction procedures, as necessary, under the supervision of the behavior analyst.Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations, which may include student physicalMaintain confidentiality and professional relationships with the students, families and colleagues.COMPENSATION:To be determined by the Board of Education.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:10 month yearVACATION:There is no vacation time allotted to this position.EVALUATION:
