Title: Lab Intern - PlasticsResponsible Manager: Manager – Polymer Material DevelopmentLocation: Temple, Texas (onsite)We, EOS – world market leader for industrial 3D printing, are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to support polymer materials testing and additive manufacturing process development within our R&D laboratory. This position provides hands-on experience with advanced polymer testing methods, materials characterization, and industrial additive manufacturing systems.Your Mission• Work in the R&D lab to conduct mechanical and physical testing of polymer materials to support research and customer projects• Perform laboratory tests including, but not limited to tensile testing, flexural testing, impact testing, melt flow index (MFI), density analysis, thermal analysis (DSC/TGA), moisture analysis, and particle characterization• Assist in material qualification and validation for polymer-based additive manufacturing systems• Support development and optimization of processing parameters for laser sintering and other powder-based polymer technologies• Prepare test specimens and perform sample conditioning in accordance with ASTM and ISO standards• Assist with powder handling, recycling studies, and material property evaluation• Improve laboratory workflows including specimen preparation, testing procedures, and data tracking systems• Operate and maintain state-of-the-art industrial polymer additive manufacturing systems• Perform data analysis, documentation, and records management in alignment with project scope and quality standards• Summarize test results in written reports and presentation formats• Assist with laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, and daily operational support• Other duties as assigned by managementYour Talents• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field• Familiarity with polymer testing standards (ASTM, ISO); hands-on laboratory experience preferred• Experience operating universal testing machines (e.g., Instron) is a plus• Experience with thermal analysis (DSC, TGA), rheology, or MFI testing is a plus• Knowledge of polymer additive manufacturing (e.g., laser sintering, SLS, powder bedtechnologies) preferred• Software skills: MS Excel required; experience with Minitab, LabVIEW, Bluehill, or similardata acquisition software is a plus• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and work instructions• Demonstrated awareness of industrial and laboratory safety practices• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and learn technical testing methods in afast-paced R&D environmentOur VisionOver 1000 sharp minds, about 60 nationalities, one goal: accelerating the world’s transition toResponsible Manufacturing.Our proven technology, industrial 3D printing, has been extending the boundaries ofmanufacturing for over 30 years.
