Dental Patient Service RepresentativeThe Dental Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is responsible for scheduling, insurance verification, financial communication, and front office support to ensure smooth daily operations and strong office production.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in a friendly, professional mannerAnswer phones promptly and schedule appointments efficientlyConfirm upcoming appointments and manage the daily schedule to minimize gapsProvide clear communication regarding treatment, policies, and next stepsInsurance & Financial CoordinationVerify dental insurance benefits and eligibilityExplain coverage, co-pays, and estimated out-of-pocket costs to patientsCollect payments at time of service and post transactions accuratelyAssist patients with payment options and financing when neededScheduling & Production SupportMaintain a productive, goal-oriented scheduleFill cancellations and openings to support daily production goalsCoordinate with clinical team to ensure smooth patient flowAdministrative DutiesEnter and update patient information accurately in practice management softwareManage incoming and outgoing correspondenceMaintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulationsSupport office metrics related to production, collections, and patient retentionQualificationsPrevious dental or medical front office experience preferredKnowledge of dental insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Denti-Cal/Medicaid a plus)Strong customer service and communication skillsComfortable discussing financial information with patientsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentExperience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) preferredKey Skills & TraitsFriendly, professional, and compassionate demeanorStrong phone and scheduling skillsTeam player with a positive attitudeReliable and punctualSolution-oriented mindsetEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.ExperienceCandidates will have a minimum of two years of experience in a dental healthcare office or fast-paced, highly interactive customer service environment.
