Hospitalist Physician Assistant

Physician Assistant or NP Hospitalists Needed !A growing hospital system in the greater Buffalo NY area is interviewing for a 7 on 7 off, 12 hour shift nights Hospitalist position. this hospitalist will not be the sole provider during the evenings, and has a wide variety of direct onsite and telephonic support. Candidates with primary care and internal medicine backgrounds preferred. Schedule 7pm - 7am 7 on - 7 off rotating - possibility to be flexible for less days in a row 10 - 12 hour shifts ResponsibilitiesPerform history and physical exams on new and established patientsInitiate appropriate treatment & testing for evaluation of illness based on training and experienceCommunicate with patients and family members concerning health related issuesProvide counseling and instructions to patients regarding health related issuesDocument using EMR systemParticipate in continuous quality improvement processesActive listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgement and decision makingTexas licensed Physician Assistant with a masters degree or Acute Care Nurse PractitionerACLS certification2 years of PA/NP experiencePreferable New York Licensed , a Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent per NYSDOH regulations. NYS License with current registration. National certification preferred. ACLS, ATLS and PALS course work required. At least one (1) year of experience in an inpatient or emergency department setting.
