Construction Superintendent/Construction Manager - Life ScienceWe are looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent/Construction Manager to support construction management for GBA Builders. This superintendent will have the full support of the project manager while exercising autonomy in day-to-day operations. Successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies. Experience in the construction of Pharma / Biotech facilities is preferred. Also, interested in candidates with a background heavy in mechanical/piping.ResponsibilitiesProvide coordination and supervision of Pharma / Biotech renovations and building additions with large amounts of process piping, clean utilities, mechanical upgrades, and automationCollaboration with clients, design teams and subcontractors for project successBuild/maintain jobsite culture of “Safety First”Quality Control/Quality AssuranceDaily coordination and management of subcontractors and jobsite logisticsCollect, review and submit shop drawings, product data, test reports, etc.Build/update construction schedule and ‘look ahead’ schedulesReview estimates with operations team to ensure logistical/site considerations are includedReview project budgets with project management weekly /monthlyComplete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo journal of progressTravel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.RequirementsDegree in construction management or experience in the tradesA minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction management/supervisionGood working knowledge of mechanical systems and process pipingPartnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clientsMS Office Suite knowledge and strong computer skillsProficient with scheduling softwareExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to build and lead a teamSelf-motivation with good time management skillsMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.At GBA, we are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer promoting diversity in our workforce by including all individuals regardless of age, race, religion, color, sex, national origin, marital status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, veteran status, pregnancy status, or any other status protected by law.
